Welcome to my web presence! I am a graduate of the Department of Computer
Science at Wayne State University (WSU) and a faculty member at Lafayette
College in the Department of Computer Science. From WSU I earned both a Masters
of Science and Doctorate of Philosophy, with a major in Computer Science.
While at Wayne I was a student of Dr. Michael Conrad's and a member of his
BioComputing Group. To paraphrase the group's original web site (no longer
active), the Biocomputing Group examines information processing in biological
and biomolecular systems through the tools of computer science to create models
for evaluating various hypotheses about these systems. The ultimate goal is to
determine the principles of biological information processing so that
capabilities of natural systems can be conferred to artificially created
computational devices.
Since July 2003 I have been on staff at Lafayette College, Easton, PA.
Lafayette College is a private liberal arts college established in 1826 and
currently has a student population of 2,500-ish. The school is notable because
it is one of the few institutions of its size with both a large Engineering
Division, and a football team NCAA I. Both the Department of Computer Science
(in the Natural Sciences Division) and the Engineering Division are ABET
accredited, and are passing through renewal during the 2014-15 academic year.
The Department of Computer Science consists of five tenure position, with four
of these positions held by tenured Associate Professors.
